Hello! I'm James Parsons of Parsons Law Office, an attorney residing in Kent, Ohio. I spent the first five years of my legal career in the oil and gas industry of Texas, working for a law firm providing numerous high-profile energy clients with assistance in such matters as commercial lease agreements, property acquisitions, title examination, and financing transactions. My efforts centered on the states of Texas, North Dakota, and Kansas, with additional supplementary work provided for projects in Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

After my wife and I decided to move back to Ohio to be closer to family, I transitioned to smaller-scale freelance work focused in the areas of estate planning and business transactions, the latter of which dealt primarily within the board gaming industry, a hobby of mine. I enjoy helping people find peace of mind in a secure estate plan, and assisting small businesses in navigating a diverse field of legal concerns. I am grateful for my experiences with firm culture and Fortune 500 clients, but take pride in more intimate work with entrepreneurs, families, smiles, and handshakes.

Beyond exceptional service, I strive for two things: transparency in billing and demystification of process. I believe you should know what you will be paying, and what I will be doing to earn your dollar. To that end, I heavily favor flat fee arrangements and upfront quotes. The legal market is filled with hyper-inflated cost largely stemming from unnecessary overhead and an unwillingness to embrace technology. I am an alternative.
